Frank Lampard is said to be keen on signing Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye from PSG this summer as Chelsea plan on spending big to make up for the lost time in the transfer market.
Following the transfer ban imposed by the football’s governing body, the Blues were unable to spend during the last transfer window, but things have changed since then for them.
Although it has been a blessing in disguise for the Blues with their young stars rising up to the challenge, Frank Lampard will not mind bringing in some new faces to bolster the squad.
Despite joining PSG three years back, Draxler has not been able to make a breakthrough into the first-team squad that boasts of Neymar up front. Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking to add some creativity to their midfield having been unable to replace Eden Hazard in the summer.
Chelsea are also said to be interested in a move for Gueye despite the Senegalese star only joining them in the summer from Everton, reports Le10Sport.
A move for the 30-year-old is unlikely given PSG’s unwillingness to sell, but the Blues remain interested despite already having N’Golo Kante in their ranks.
Investment in January would ensure they put themselves in the best possible position to qualify for the Champions League.
