Jurgen Klopp aims a dig at Everton during Liverpool’s victory parade

Jurgen Klopp aimed a thinly veiled dig at neighbours and arch-rivals Everton during their Champions League victory parade yesterday.

The Liverpool manager was amazed by the fact that almost 750,000 people turned up to celebrate his team’s recent success.

He went to say that given the turnout, fans of other clubs most notably Everton were invisible to him.

He also implied that Children growing up in the Merseyside had no option but to support the Reds with a clear indication that the upcoming footballers should not support Everton.

Speaking to LFC TV, the German said: “I don’t know exactly how many people live in Liverpool but it does not look like there is a lot of space for fans of other clubs.

“It is incredible. If you are a young kid, which do you support? There are not a lot of opportunities or options other than Liverpool. You see in the eyes how much it means. It is really intense.”

Everton’s only European silverware in their history is winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1984/85.

Marko Silva’s men finished the league at the eighth spot, 43 points shy of their arch-rivals Liverpool.

Do you think it wise of Klopp to take a dig at Everton?
