According to rumoured reports, Jurgen Klopp has instructed the Liverpool management to initiate contract extension discussions with Divock Origi.
The 24-year-old has impressed the Liverpool coach with his contributions for the team this season in Premier League.
The Belgian has scored a couple of crucial goals throughout the campaign and with only one year remaining on his current deal, he would either have to re-sign a new contract or will be sold out.
Klopp is believed to be impressed with Origi’s performance during the training sessions, which he values a lot, and on many occasions has given him a chance either off the bench or from the start.
Origi has only six goals to his names, but those two came in a 4-0 aggregate win over Barcelona, the one he scored in the second leg of the semifinals at the Merseyside derby, and the other in the form of a late header against Newcastle United.
Klopp can consider extending Origi’s contract at the Anfield if he aims to provide an extra cover to Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, as the Belgian striker can score big goals in crucial moments.
There may be some significant responsibilities awaiting for Origi if his contract is being further extended.
