Reports in Italy have been linking Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral to Manchester United. Merih Demiral. According to the Italian news outlet Tutto Juve, the Red Devils have offered over £26million for Juventus defender. However, Maurizio Sarri is said to have shunned the offer and has denied selling the player as he thinks him to be one for the future.

The 21-year-old left Sassuolo back in July to join Juve reportedly for 18 million euros (AS), however, he has not been able to break into the first team as of yet, and has been on the bench for most of his time at the Old Lady under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, appearing only once out of 7 Serie A fixtures.

Though his start at the Italian giant outfit has been more of a disappointment, his performance for his national team has been anything but swashbuckling.

Demiral has started in each of the fixtures from the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier and has played every single minute of it to make his mark as Turkey have conceded only 3 goals in last 8 games and are currently on top of the table ahead of world cup winner France.

The Bianconeri have a flurry of defenders under their disposal and it is understandable if are not able to give first-team football to Demiral ahead of the likes of De Ligt and Bonucci, and thus selling him to Manchester United for a good price shouldn’t be an issue for them.

In your view, do Man Utd need another first-team central defender? Should they hire the services of Merih Demiral?
