Liverpool amassed 97 points and didn’t still win the league. City did back to back titles after winning the season at 98 points, one more than City.

The Liverpool players are already looking forward to the Champions League final against Tottenham, despite being the Premier League runners-up with the highest points total in history. Liverpool never came to the final day still hoping to win the league since they last won it.

Liverpool’s loss is not De Bruyne’s concern. No love lost.

Kevin De Bruyne was injured off and on this season but is still central to what Manchester City achieve. He was only involved in 19 league games. The Belgian was asked if he felt sorry title rivals Liverpool and he was quick to point out that the Scousers didn’t feel sorry when City were knocked out. So no love lost there, really.

In an interview with the Telegraph, De Bruyne is full of pride and a wee bit of arrogance as he says City were just that much better than Liverpool. He was central to the first title under Pep but injuries reduced him to a side role this season.

De Bruyne doesn’t like watching his own team but more than that he can’t feel sorry for Liverpool despite all the efforts Liverpool have put all-season.
