Naby Keita was brought to Anfield with a lot of expectation and anticipation. Once he came though, people had to temper their expectations of the man.
He has not been able to cement a starting spot in the XI. Wijnaldum, Henderson, etc. have not given much reason all season to shake things up.
Keita though would like to make a place for himself after waiting on the sidelines for his chance. To his credit he scored a great goal from AA’s cross last night. The point of discussion though isn’t his goal, but the follow up by players. It seems some players were reluctant to celebrate with the Guinean midfielder.
“I don’t know exactly why (they didn’t celebrate), it’s for sure nothing to do with Naby!
“They were all really happy for him in the dressing room, he had multiple hugs. At 1-1, because we wanted to win, it was not the goal, so all the boys obviously decided not to celebrate it like crazy because there was still a job to do”
“Still, a fantastic moment for a first goal.
It is good that the boys are not as happy with a job half done.
