22 year old midfielder Marko Grujic was the first signing of the Jurgen Klopp era. The midfielder was officially contracted to Liverpool in the winter window on January 6, 2016. He was loaned to his club Red Star till the end of the season.
Since then he has played with Cardiff in England. It wasn’t his last loan though, as Liverpool sent him back on loan. Germany it was this time. Grujic is getting ample minutes but the expectations clearly, have not been met. That is not the case at Hertha.
Liverpool are now going to offload him. The Serbian has clocked 1391 minutes in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 3 goals.
In an interview given to the Bild in Germany, the young Serb says he would love to stay at his current club. Hertha BSC would have to pay something in the region of £20 million.
Given how impressed the manager over at Hertha is by Grujic’s abilities, it is a transfer that may just make sense in the summer.
