Kurt Zouma’s loan move to Everton has been a big success as the Frenchman has impressed us with his brilliant performances in the heart of our defence.
On loan from Chelsea, Zouma has been an everpresent star in our lineup and his performances just show why.
However, his loan deal ends at the end of this season and there’s a question mark whether he would still be at the Goodison Park next season.
The question was raised to Zouma and here’s what he said:
“To be fair, I have not had time to talk about because we still have seventh place to take before the end of the season so I am focused on that,” Zouma said.
“Where I will be is where I know I have a chance to play. If it is here or somewhere else – I don’t know where – I just want to enjoy myself and to keep playing.
“I am very happy. I am enjoying my season. I am enjoying my time here. It is not finished yet. I am still enjoying it.
“I have been playing a lot. That was my target when I signed here. The loan move has been very important.”
Looks like Zouma wouldn’t mind a permanent stay here if we can give him the playing time that he deserves. The only problem will be to convince Chelsea and negotiating a deal with the London Club. According to Marco Silva:
“There’s always a chance,” Silva said on Zouma to Everton.
“But like I said, it’s something that’s not just in our hands.
“They are happy here, which is a good sign. That means they are performing, they are enjoying it and they are helping the team also.
“It’s up to the clubs also, it’s not just in our hands. It’s in the player’s minds also and they have to decide together with their own clubs. In the right moment we will do something.”
Hopefully, we can negotiate a deal with Chelsea and sign him on a permanent this summer. The Frenchman is just too good to let go.
