Leicester City might be willing to sell James Maddison to Manchester United for £80million during the next summer transfer window and it is being reported that the Red Devils are confident as well as keen to make this deal happen.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be keen on strengthening Man Utd’s midfield, after failing to sign proper replacements for the lost midfielders like Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera.
Maddison has been following Manchester United since his boyhood, and thus it comes as a no brainer that the player has a willingness to move to Old Trafford, however, Leicester are trying hard to make the most out of this new bumper deal.
The 23-year-old can triple his wages at the King Power Stadium but the Daily Star claim talks have not progressed as much as claimed with the Foxes.
That’s given United further encouragement that a deal for Maddison is possible next summer with the Red Devils believing that Maddison is keen on the move.
Leicester value Maddison at around £80m, meaning any deal would make him United’s joint-second biggest arrival behind Paul Pogba’s world record return in 2016.
Solskjaer will be handed significant funds to spend in January – as well as the summer – but the club are pessimistic about their chances of adding to the squad in the winter market.
