According to the reports, Liverpool has emerged as the favourites to sign the Lyon forward Memphis Depay, birminghammail
The 25-year-old forward has made 116 appearances for Lyon, scoring 39 goals and chipping in with 41 assists in all competitions.
With Daniel Sturridge set to depart the Anfield in the next few weeks, Jurgen Klopp wants to sign an attacker who can back-up or even compete with our front three and Depay could just be that man for us.
Meanwhile, Wolves could also be a likely destination for Depay as Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to bolster his attack by adding the Dutch forward to his squad.
Of course, signing for Liverpool guarantees better contract (financially) and a chance to win trophies which he won’t have at Wolves. Although, the Dutch star will definitely see more first team minutes with Nuno’s side.
The Netherlands international has scored 14 goals in 47 appearances. He also played in the UEFA Nations League semi-final against England and in the finals against Portugal.
In recent years, Depay has become an exciting talent in European football to watch out and maybe it’s time he joins a club where he can flourish and establish himself as one of the best.
