With so much quality present in the team, it’s understandable that Liverpool fans are no longer easy to please. Some Liverpool beat Southampton on Saturday with ease but some fans have taken to social media to criticize right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold after he frequently lost possession of the play, something that is not expected of a player of his calibre and level.
Liverpool have now a 22 point lead over their nearest rivals Manchester City in pursuit of their first English Premier League title. The Reds sailed to their 24th victory from 25 games thanks to the goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and a brace from Mohamed Salah.
Alexander-Arnold, who is valued at £99m by TransferMarkt, found himself on the opposite end of feedback from fans at full-time.
The 21-year-old lost possession 41 times, only completed six long balls from 23 and had a pass success rate of just 52%, as per SofaScore.
Here you will find some of the comments from Liverpool fans…
The numbers aren't great, and Trent wasn't either I think.
52% Pass accuracy (32/52)
0/7 Accurate crosses
6/23 Accurate long passes
1/3 Tackles won
2/7 Ground duels
1/1 Aerial duel
Better at the back than going forward. Testament perhaps to Southampton's press. https://t.co/ZyGyjf4e7E

Thought Trent had a stinker today y'know. His distribution was atrocious. Same with Ox in the first half but he's garbage out wide. First 45 was the worst half all season.
Couldn't fault anyone second half mind. Van Djik, Firmino, Salah and Hendo were all brilliant. #LFC
