Liverpool fans take their frustration out after Suarez tweet

Suarez may be a cherished figure at Anfield despite his departure to Barcelona all those years ago. The Uruguay International showed Reds fans just what they have been missing.

Suarez scored early on to give Barcelona the lead in a finely balanced tie before Messi turned the tie in the favour of Catalans. Barcelona went on to soundly beat Barcelona but Liverpool were never outplayed by Suarez and Co.

In what as a tough visit to Nou Camp, Liverpool will feel they could have taken more on their way back to Anfield. A number of good Liverpool chances went begging, including from Salah.

Liverpool were the team with more possession, more shots and more corners but ended up losing by their biggest margin after Messi inspired Barca to a win.

This is what former Red Suarez wrote on twitter after the match:

Liverpool fans quickly responded by saying that his return to Anfield will be unwelcome and unfriendly. Some went on to label him a snake while some called his goal celebration disrespectful.

Other fans acknowledged that the winning spirit in the former Liverpudlian takes him over the line sometimes and whether we like it or not, he is always focused on winning. It doesn’t matter who he plays against.
