Jurgen Klopp gave pre-match injury updates as the fixture against Chelsea approaches. The team will have returning players to boost the options at several positions.
While Klopp rules out the possibility of having the likes of Joe Gomez back in the first team squad, he does give additional updates on players likely to play.
Sadio Mane, the spearhead of most Liverpool attacks had injured himself in training the past week. He is now expected to start the game, giving much relief to Reds fans.
Liverpool’s other injury concern was Georgio Wijnaldum, who is also expected to start against the London side. Here’s what Klopp had to say about the injuries and squad options:
“Sadio fell on his thumb and didn’t train yesterday. He should be OK today.
Gini has a bit of a back problem but will train today.”
