Reports suggest that Liverpool have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, and the Portuguese has expressed his eagerness to play in the Premier League.
Bruno said, “I always said that I was an ambitious player and from a very early age I have had a dream of playing in England, where you can live pure football,” the Portuguese international said this week.
“I want to have a good pre-season, but if anything comes up, I’m available to do what is best for the club.”
The 24-year-old has a release clause of around €100M with Sporting Lisbon, and Manchester United and City are interested in signing the midfielder this summer.
So far this season, Bruno has scored 31 goals and provided 18 assists in a total of 53 appearances for Sporting Lisbon.
Fernandes had an incredible season with Lisbon and having helped the club to win Taca de Portugal as they also beat FC Porto last week on penalties.
The Lisbon star has adapted himself playing as an attacking midfielder or even as a support striker, but over the years Fernandes has played in every position from central midfield to centre forward, initially came as a winger into the team.
It would be difficult for Klopp to place him in the lineup as to move wide players centrally, a huge progression which Fernandes seems to have already made, but there’s also a real need to sign a central midfielder who can rotate the ball along with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
