Merseyside’s willingness can be seen by the fact that Red’s boss Jurgen Klopp has made an offer of 80 million euros to the French club.
It will be a 5-year deal which will run until 2024 and will be worth 15 million euros.
A few days back, L’Equipe had claimed that the Reds are still keen to sign Pepe and seem to have taken a further move in their interest in luring Pepe, by coming close to Lille’s 80 million euros asking price.
Pepe has played 37 league games for Lille in the last term and has helped them to finish second in the table by contributing in 33 goals, 22 goals and 11 assists.
The 24-year-old has also played 11 times for the senior national side and has scored four goals.
As far as his ability potential is concerned, he was one of the most productive attackers in European football last season. Pepe is a kind of play, who usually operates on the right flank but can also play on number nine.
