We have already covered in our previous post that Liverpool and Klopp are interested in Wolves left-back Ruben Vinagre as a backup option for Andy Robertson.
However, the big news doing the rounds is that Liverpool are also interested in Ruben Neves’ services.
Portuguese outlet O Jogo went to Liverpool’s Melwood training ground to speak with Klopp’s assistant Lijnders, who was a Porto coach between 2008 and 2014. Lijnders was asked about the interest in Neves and here’s what he replied:
“I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism…I know what he gives to the team and this type of players always interest us,” he said.
“I recognised him when I saw him at Wolves. I saw technique, professionalism; I saw the 2013/14 player I knew.”
Asked if he had contact with Neves, Lijnders replied: “Yes, it was a special moment. He’s a man, he’s got a wife, a baby… It’s good to see my boys.”
Liverpool have a brilliant squad with no apparent weaknesses but if there’s one thing that might stand against us, it’s the lack of goals from our Midfield.
Ruben Neves is known to have an amazing right foot and the Portuguese scores almost 5 to 10 screamers every season. If we can acquire the services of Neves, we might just develop into the most complete team in Europe!
