John Henry, the American businessman who bought Liverpool in 2010 has spoken about his thoughts on Liverpool. Since he bought the club, a number of managers have been hired and fired before the club finally hired Jurgen Klopp in 2015.
Since then, the club has got Michael Edwards as the sporting director. Together, the manager and the rest of the staff have recruited smartly. Some players were bargains when you look in hindsight, and the more expensive ones even more so. Despite all the furor over spending outrageously on defenders and goalkeepers. It is all coming together though.
“It has been a challenge. We thought we knew sports and our skills would translate in Liverpool, but it has been a challenge.”
“We have a great group now. Mike (Gordon) has been really key in putting together this group at Liverpool, Jurgen, Michael Edwards and all the staff there. It’s a great group and a great squad at this point.”
“It would be the culmination of our dream. all we really wanted to do is win trophies for our supporters, the people of Liverpool and everybody around the world who is a supporter of Liverpool.
“We know how much it means to them and to us. It’s a dream we hope will come a reality in May.
