Liverpool has reportedly put a price tag of £25m on Dejan Lovren with AC Milan been linked with a surprise move for the stalwart.
Lovren’s season was marred with injuries as he was limited to only 18 appearances at the Anfield.
Questions have been raised over his future with the Merseyside club due to his reduced game time on the pitch under Jurgen Klopp.
Meanwhile, AC Milan has shown interest in the Croatian international and are willing to offer him the first team opportunities.
The Italian giants have to fill the gap after it was revealed that Ignazio Abate and Cristian Zapata are set to depart this summer with their contracts expiring.
According to the latest reports, Liverpool will not entertain any bid from AC Milan for anything less than £25m.
If Liverpool can pull off this transfer, it could be a perfect deal for both the club, otherwise, the Italian outfit will have to look somewhere else.
However, if the deal indeed falls through, Lovren still can play a key role for Jurgen Klopp as he can offer depth in the defence in case of injuries or poor form.
It’s debatable whether the Liverpool boss would be allowed by the management to let him leave, as ultimately they will have to go out and look for a replacement when Liverpool should perhaps focus on other areas.
