The 28-year-old made 13 appearances for Southampton in the Premier League last season, where he was on loan.

Nathaniel Clyne, the former Southampton defender, has fewer chances of getting a place in the lineup, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him in the pecking order at the Anfield.

The English international has already attracted interest from clubs like West Ham and Crystal Palace for his services.

However, Clyne being a quality defender; could be a great back-up to the Liverpool squad, as Klopp puts a lot of emphasis on the full-backs in his tactics.

Clyne is still a relatively young player and he still has a lot to offer in Jurgen Klopp’s high pressing system.

Recently, Klopp spoke about Clyne: “As a manager, to have an option like Clyney is good. When I came in here, Clyney felt like he played in every game, he was always fit and could always play and was a very important part of the squad and the team
