Moussa Sissokho collided with Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk, resulting in an injury to the defender. The Netherlands international suffered the injury in the late stages of the game that Liverpool won 2-1. Roberto Firmino scored early to give Reds the lead.
Spurs equalized at 70 minutes but Mo Salah was at hand to grab the winner. However, the victory was tainted by the injury suffered by Van Dijk. The incident happened very late, in the 85th minute of the game.
Spurs had broken off in a counter attack and had the numbers in front when Van Dijk rose to the occasion and cleared danger.
“We have to see. I asked him and I think it was in the counter-attack situation when Sissoko hit him… I don’t know if he twisted it or it is a knock.
“He was walking to the interviews with a big ice pack. I hope it’s nothing serious but I don’t know yet.”
