Liverpool is reportedly very close on to sign an agreement for the Sociedad centre-back Diego Llorente for €25m.
The Spaniard has made 21 appearances for Sociedad in La Liga this campaign.
The 25-year-old is a known to be a good passer of the ball and would be an ideal fit alongside ball-playing centre-back Virgil van Dijk if he wishes to move to the Anfield this summer.
It’s most likely that Llorente wouldn’t be expected to come to the Merseyside and win a place in the lineup immediately, but he would surely be giving a good competition to the likes of Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren.
Since leaving the Los Blancos in the summer of 2017, Luis Enrique brought him to Spain, and he returned as an important member of the national team squad. Llorente made his La Roja debut in 2016.
He is a perfect example of someone who has fulfilled his enormous potential away from the team, where he learnt his trade.
If he gets to ply his trade in the Liverpool defence, it would be a great addition for the Anfield outfit.
