Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will still be without the services of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Alisson Becker after all of them were granted extra holidays, thanks to their involvement in Copa America and AFCON tournaments.
Divock Origi is expected to lead the line once again for the Reds with Wijnaldum playing in a more advanced role.
Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is also expected to start in the midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, while Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson occupy either flank. Simon Mignolet will start in the goal in the absence of Alisson.
For Lyon, new signing Thiago Mendes could make an appearance after Nabil Fekir completed his move to Real Betis earlier in the summer.
Liverpool haven’t managed to win their last 4 games of the preseason, albeit with a weaker squad, but the Premier League season is close and Jurgen Klopp would look to field his strongest team tonight before the Community Sheild final against Manchester City.
We expect a 2-0 win for the Reds with Wijnaldum and Origi getting on the scoresheet.
