Liverpool have been looking to make attacking reinforcements to the squad since last summer. Lyon’s 25 year old attacking midfielder was set for a move to Anfield in the last summer window but the move fell through before it could be sealed.
Since then, Fekir’s agent has been fired by the player and signs coming from Lyon point to a move that could finally take place in the summer. Including one from the club President at Lyon who says Liverpool’s target will be allowed to move this year.
The last transfer is said to have fallen on account of Nabil Fekir’s injured knee. Apparently, Liverpool were not entirely sure if thee midfielder would recover well enough to fight for a place in the Liverpool squad. The fee was close to £50 million.
Jean-Michel Aulas recently declared that a number of players will leave the French club in the upcoming window and Fekir already has been sanctioned a move away from the club.
In 29 games this season, Nabil Fekir has scored 9 goals and assisted 7 more. Liverpool are set to face competition from at least Manchester City and Juventus. If a move is to be agreed between the clubs, Liverpool will have to move early.
