Manchester United fans were left disappointed by Bruno Fernandes as the midfielder put in a week performance for Portugal last night.

The Red Devils have kept an eye on him after he enjoyed a stunning campaign in the Primera Liga with Sporting Lisbon.

He scored 32 goals and set up another 18 in 53 appearances for Verde e brancos guiding them to Taca de Portugal glory.

His Heroics have caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe with United and arch-rivals Manchester City said to be the most prominent suitors.

Portugal’s UEFA Nations League semifinals last night was Fernandes’ opportunity to announce his arrival on the bigger stage, one which he failed to grab.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Portugal with a stunning Free kick which was later cancelled out by Ricardo Rodriguez’s controversial penalty.

The Portuguese superman stepped up his game in the last few minutes and netted twice to propel his side to UEFA Nations League finals against either England or the Netherlands.

Bruno Fernandes, however, left no long-lasting impression which has left the Manchester United fans reeling.

United fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment and caution the ahead of a potential £80m move for the 25-year-old.
