Sporting CP Star Bruno Fernandes and Benfica teenage starlet João Félix are having one hell of a season in the Portuguese League.
Bruno Fernandes has been a long term target for Manchester United to sort out the lack of goals and creativity from the midfield. We have already covered about Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United here.
However, Manchester City have overtaken us in the race to Sign Bruno, according to the latest reports.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have turned their attention to another breakthrough star from the Portuguese League, the 19-year-old João Félix.
João Félix plays as an attacking midfielder for Benfica and has notched up 17 goals and 7 assists so far in all competitions this season.
With a release clause of €120m hanging on his head, the 19-year-old is one of the top stars in Benfica and the reports say that Manchester United has already tabled up a bid of €75m for the attacking midfielder.
A couple of days ago Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias reported that the Red Devils had sent their scout to Benfica in the home side’s 5-1 win over Portimonense to watch the youngster in action.
And recently, Tutto Mercato Web have also confirmed Manchester United’s interest in the kid who is likely to move to a big European Club this summer.
The reports suggest that our interest in the teenager is a concrete one and the only hurdle is the mammoth release clause of €120m.
Manchester United are unwilling to pay that kind of money for a teenager, however, there’s a big chance that the price could be negotiated if all the parties involved agree to a deal.
But, will it be a wise decision to spend €75m on a teenager, albeit supremely talented?
