Manchester United are looking to revamp their squad in the summer transfer window ahead of the next Premier League season.
There are several (probably every) areas on the pitch for us that needs upgrading and while it might not be possible to fix everything in just one transfer window, we have to start somewhere.
Right Back is one of the priority position that needs addressing after Valencia’s departure. We have already been linked with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Thomas Meunier with Juventus’s Joao Cancelo also been thrown around in the mix and now the reports from Italy have confirmed that United are definitely interested in the services of the Portuguese International.
Joao Cancelo is 24-year-old Right Back (also able to play as a left back) who joined Juventus in the last summer transfer window, however, the lack of opportunities means that Cancelo is already thinking about leaving the club with United a possible destination.
Cancelo was on the bench in Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final loss to Ajax and that’s said to be the final nail in the coffin for the defender.
Ed Woodward has reportedly already contacted the super agent Mendes over the player’s transfer but Juventus are said to be asking a fee just over £50m.
United, meanwhile, are only offering £42m but are ready to throw in Matteo Darmian to sweeten the deal. The 29-year-old Darmian has only appeared in 14 league games in the last two seasons for United with Solskjaer eager to ship off the deadwood from the squad.
Do you think Joao Cancelo is good enough to be a Manchester United player?
