Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided injury update in his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s final Premier League game of the season against Cardiff.
Ole’s men travel to Wales to take on Neil Warnock’s Cardiff on Sunday in the 3 PM Kickoff as United looks to end the season on a high.
Cardiff has already been relegated to the Championship while the result of this game will have no bearing on Manchester United’s position in the league table with the Red Devils set to finish the season at the 6th position without any trophies.
Ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Eric Bailly is the only absentee from the squad while the gaffer hopes that Antonio Valencia, despite being unfit, could come on at some point in the game to get a proper farewell:
“I spoke to Antonio yesterday. He’s not been fit the five or six months I’ve been here unfortunately. He’s really struggled but he feels that he could play a part and I would hope that he gets through today and tomorrow and we could give him a nice send off, because he’s been a fantastic servant to the club.
“He’s been Player of the Year, he’s been captain at the club and I think that’s only fair.”
While Eric Bailly is the only confirmed absentee there are doubts over the availability of Sergio Romero, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Mason Greenwood due to slight niggles and injuries.
Manchester United fans would be hoping that Ole gives the likes of Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood (if fit) and other academy stars a good run in tomorrow.
