According to a report published in Daily Star, many Manchester United players have visited Ed Woodward and urged him to keep Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their manager, despite the Red Devils’ mixed start to the Premier League season.
The Red Devils eased some of the pressure on the Norwegian with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday, with a Marcus Rashford brace ruining Jose Mourinho’s return to his old club.
Manchester United have won just five of their first 15 league matches, however, something that Solskjaer is fully aware isn’t acceptable.
A club source is quoted as saying:
There’s no doubt the squad are still desperate to do well for the manager.
There is a strong feeling towards him and some of them wanted to make this clear.
Woodward is reportedly willing to give Solskjaer all the time he needs in order to carry out his rebuilding job, and they showed on Wednesday night that, when they have their key players back, they’re able to rub shoulders with the best in the top flight.
