Eric Bailly put up a solid display as Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-0 in the English Premier League and fans took to the social media to express their delight afterwards.

The 25-year-old was returning from a long-term leg injury which saw him sit on the sidelines for almost all of this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have picked Phil Jones with ease in Victor Lindelof’s absence, however, the Man Utd manager trusted Eric Bailly after he impressed the Norwegian being in training.

Eric Bailly did justice with the trust placed in him by his manager and made three key blocks, as per whoscored. One of those saw him steal possession from Michy Batshuayi before calmly playing his way out of trouble.

That moment certainly caught the attention of many United fans and some of them have taken to Twitter to appreciate the defender’s impressive return to competitive action after a long injury lay-off.

This is what Manchester United fans had to say about the Ivorian international after the game on Twitter:

United will be in Europa League action on Thursday night where they are scheduled to face Club Brugge. The club will make the trip to the Jan Breydel Stadium for the first leg of the round of 32 clash.
