Manchester United are very keen on signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon according to Sky Sports News presenter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Red Devils are in the market for a number of new recruits as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to change the club’s fortunes after a disappointing end to the last season.

United have already acquired Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and Daniel James from Swansea and are still after a number of other players.

Portuguese midfield star Bruno Fernandes is one of United’s most sought after high profile targets and Sky Sports News presenter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that Manchester United have set the wheels in motion to land the 24-year-old.

“This is a player [Fernandes] that Man United are very keen on bringing to Old Trafford.” Sheth said on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.

“I was told his agent travelled to the UK to sound out the possibility of a move to the Premier League.”

Manchester United finished sixth last year in the Premier League, missing out on next season’s UEFA Champions League.

He has previously also mentioned of his desire to play in the Premier League revealing that he is an ambitious player.

“I always said that I was an ambitious player and from a very early age I have a dream of playing in England, where you can live pure football without big controversy, without big cases.

“Now, any of the other leagues, Germany, Spain and Italy are also very good and ambitious.
