News outlets in Itlay including, Corriere dello Serra, have been extensively reporting about the ongoing battle between the Red Devils and the Nerazzurri for signing the veteran star, who is valued at around 20 million euros by Barcelona.
Arturo Vidal can be a great addition to Ole’s side as he is a top-quality player and the fact that the Catalan Giants had signed him as Leo Messi’s replacement is a proof enough of his capabilities. Manchester United currently lack quality midfielders and Vidal can play almost anywhere in the centre of the park and is excellent going forward. The South American is a decorated star, who has won league titles in Chile, Italy, Germany and Spain.
The 32-year-old has made 113 appearances for his country so far and scored 27 goals. He was a key member of the Chile squad that won the Copa America title in 2015 and also in 2016.
The former Juventus star joined Barcelona in the summer transfer window of 2018. Last season, he made 33 league appearances and directly contributed in 10 goals (3 goals and 7 assists).
However, since the arrival of De Jong last year, Vidal has mainly been a bench warmer under the management of Valverde. So far, he has only started four times in the La Liga (scored 6 goals) this term.
The versatile midfielder has got ample experience to improve Man Utd’s midfield department which was not reinforced in the summer transfer window. However, at his age, he would not be a long-term fix at Old Trafford. His current contract with the Spanish champions will expire in 2021 and he is earning around £147,000-a-week (Sport).
