Paul Pogba has been linked with a summer transfer to Real Madrid because when you’ve got Mino Raiola as your agent, this sort of things happens.
The Frenchman had a difficult relationship with Jose Mourinho and was criticised for his performances and attitude. However, the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rejuvenated the midfielder..well.. at least that’s what happened for a couple of months before the old habit kicked in.
Now, after a few inconsistent performances, questions over attitude, a dressing-down from Roy Keane and the occasional mutual flirting between Pogba and Zidane later, the reports/rumours of Pogba to Real Madrid have started to emerge yet again.
Recently, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was inquired about the future of Paul and here’s what he said:
“You can’t guarantee anything in football but yes I think Paul is going to be here.
“I can assure you he is now very determined to succeed at Man United.
“I would say yes I can guarantee, but in life, you can never. He will be as far as I can answer.”
Yet, the Independent are now reporting that Solskjaer could sanction Pogba’s move to Real Madrid only if he can get one of Toni Kroos or Raphael Varane in return.
Manchester United are in a need of a Centre-Back and Raphael Varane is one of the best in the business, so of course, it makes sense to ask for their star Frenchman in return for our star Frenchman.
Toni Kroos, however, could be an interesting choice. The German would probably fall down the pecking order if Real Madrid decides to bring in Pogba, but would he be an ideal choice for Manchester United? He’s got the vision, creativity, class and leadership, but the age isn’t on his side with the German turning 29 in January of this year.
Do you think either of Varane or Kroos would be a wise choice in exchange for Paul Pogba?
