Manchester United have moved an inch closer in their pursuit of Lyon striker Moussa Dembele. Daily Star suggest that the Red Devils are in a strong position to land the Frenchman for £60m.
Manchester United were linked with Dembele during the January transfer window but settled for the services of Odion Ighalo on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Red Devils are expected to sign a new long-term striker this summer, though, and according to the Daily Star, Man Utd are ahead of Chelsea in the race for the former Fulham youngster.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are prepared to offer the 23-year-old a more lucrative salary than the Blues, with the attacker in line for a £150,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted that he will not stand in the way of any player who wants to leave the French club during this summer’s transfer window.
The 20-time English champions failed to replace Romelu Lukaku ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, while Marcus Rashford’s back injury led to Ighalo arriving on transfer deadline day.
