Manchester United and Liverpool have shown an interest in Real Betis left-back Junior Firpo ahead of the summer transfer window.
With around six weeks left in the summer transfer window, Manchester United have only added Daniel James to the squad.
While, center-back and right-back are the primary area of concern for Ole’s squad, the Red Devils have also shown an interest in adding a competition for Luke Shaw for the left-back position, as per the reports.
Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Jurgen Klopp is looking for a quality back-up option for Andy Robertson after letting go the Spaniard, Alberto Moreno, on a free transfer.
Similarly, Ole Gunnar Solskajer would love to add a competition for Luke Shaw on the left, especially given the fact that Ashley Young is past his best, when running after wingers half his age.
With Aaron Wan-Bissaka set for a medical this week, adding another another young and talented full-back could turn out to be a wise decision from the Norwegian, especially given the injury history of Luke Shaw.
However, is Firpo the right option to compete with Luke Shaw? With a release clause of €50m (£45m), he certainly won’t come cheap!
Firpo has made 35 appearances in two season at Real Betis where he has managed to score 5 goals.
