We have already covered this news before here, but now the rumours are catching up as Manchester United look to replace Romelu Lukaku with Lyon Striker Moussa Dembele.
Former Celtic Striker Moussa Dembele is having a terrific season at Lyon notching up 18 goals and 4 assists in all competitions this season.
Romelu Lukaku has gone down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is looking to leave Manchester United in the summer after his agents comment about the future of the Belgian:
“He likes Italy,” Lukaku’s agent Pastorello told Sky Sports. “When he was a child he followed a lot the Italian league.
“Everybody agrees today the Premier League is the best but years ago Italy was the best and they were the dreams for the younger footballer players.
“He sees a way to have a career playing in different countries because he would like to win some trophies and prove himself and say to his children ‘I won there and I won there and I won there’ and ‘I was a very good player in all the top championships’ so let’s see, the future is really very open.
And now French publication L’Equipe claims that Dembele’s impressive season has caught the eyes of Manchester United’s scouts.
L’Equipe further claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already inquired about the attitude of the Frenchman given his previous problems at Celtic with then manager Brendan Rodgers.
If Romelu Lukaku indeed leaves the Red Devils this summer, we would only have Marcus Rashford upfront, meaning, we would need a signing to compete with Rashford and Moussa Dembele could be that man available for around €50m.
