In case you haven’t noticed, real football is finally back as Manchester United takes on Chelsea in the first game of this Premier League campaign.
While the visitors are serving a transfer ban and have just lost David Luiz to Arsenal, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his managed to complete the signing of Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire in the transfer window.
Of course, there have also been a few departures, most notably of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan which begs the question as to how Manchester United will lineup against Chelsea on Sunday.
So, here we are with our 4-2-3-1 predicted lineup for the Red Devils’ first game of the season:
This is fairly straightforward; David de Gea starts in front of the goalpost.
New signing, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, will start ahead of Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young as the right-back with Luke Shaw starting on either wing.
We should see the center-back pairing of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof for the first time at the center of defense.
Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic could get the nod as the 2 central midfielders ahead of Scott McTominay with Solskjaer opting for experience against Chelsea.
Jesse Lingard, thanks to his relentless pressing and defensive contributions, should start in the No. 10 role, as the Englishman is capable of dropping deep without the ball with a good work-rate. Solskjaer will need that against Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Daniel James and Anthony Martial should start on either side of Lingard as the duo take on Emerson and Cesar Azpilicueta on the wings.
Marcus Rashford is our first choice Striker and he will start against the Blues.
