Manchester United seem to have totally given up on Paul Pogba. If the reports are to be believed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be happy to get rid of him for a far lesser price than what was quoted before for the midfielder. A swap deal that will see Real Madrid star Toni Kroos come to the Old Trafford plus some cash should also seal the deal.
Pogba, through his so-called super-agent, has made it more than clear that he doesn’t want to stay at the club anymore and no matter what Solskjaer might be saying publically about him staying at the club, his behaviour has clearly frustrated the gaffer behind the scenes.
Manchester United wanted Real Madrid to pay an eyewatering £160million last summer to let the Frenchman leave. Things seem to have changed quite a bit as The Sun claim the Red Devils are willing to let him go for only £100m instead.
Even then, it would make him the costliest exit in the club’s entire history. It would also ensure that United make a profit on Pogba, who they paid £89m to sign during the 2016 summer transfer window.
The report adds that Solskjaer would like to land Real Madrid star Kroos as a replacement for the 26-year-old.
The Germany international came close to moving to the club in 2014 after David Moyes had put the legwork in. But, after United sacked Moyes and brought in Louis van Gaal, Kroos ended up moving to the Bernabeu instead.
The Red Devils would certainly require a replacement for Pogba should they cut their losses on their midfielder this month.
