Reports in France suggest that Manchester United have rekindled their interest in getting Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain as Ashley Young’s replacement who is poised to join Inter Milan very soon.
We reported yesterday that Young is undergoing his medical at Inter Milan and a transfer fee of £1.3million has already been agreed between the Italian giants and Manchester United.
Which means the Red Devils will be left a little short at full-back and would need replacements to add more depth in the squad.
According to Le Parisien, the club have now turned attention back towards PSG right-back Thomas Meunier. Crucially, he can also play on the left side of the defence, as Young did so many times over the past few years.
The Belgian is currently out of contract in the summer but is expected to see out the rest of his deal at the Parc des Princes.
Two other Premier League clubs are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old. Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Speaking last September amid links to Arsenal, Meunier hinted that he was holding out for an extension at PSG, something that is yet to be offered.
