Manchester United have made a €40 million (£35m) bid for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Dani Olmo, according to the latest reports.
The talented 21-year-old midfielder was the one of best players in the recently concluded European Under 21 Championship as he helped Spain to beat Germany in the finals of the tournament, for which he was also named the Man of the Match.
Olmo scored 3 goals for his national team and was generally impressive in his display in the midfield and has attracted interest from various big clubs across the Europe, including Manchester United.
Now, according to Croatian Newspaper Sportske Novosti, Manchester United have launched a £35m bid for the midfielder after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer watched him closely during the European-21 Championship.
The new transfer plan implemented at the Old Trafford calls for young and talented British players who have the skills and motivation to become a United regular in a few years time.
Dani Olmo ticks most of those boxes, except for the fact that he’s Spanish, but his exceptional talent and potential should make up for it.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined Dinamo Zagreb from Barcelona in 2015 as a part of a swap deal which saw Alen Halilovic move to the Nou Camp.
Since then, the youngster has managed to score 17 goals and notch up 15 assists in 71 league appearances for the Croatian club.
Olmo had a brilliant campaign last season where he won the best player and best young player awards in the Croatian First Football League.
It remains to be seen whether Zagreb accepts the latest offer from Manchester United or try to milk us for more cash. He certainly looks like a good option.
