After losing out on Erling Haaland, Manchester United are now reportedly in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and will be looking to sign him at the end of the season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly asked the Manchester United board to secure Sancho’s signing in the January itself, however, Woodward is said to be in favour of getting the player in the summer.

Dortmund have put a massive £100 million price tag on the player, and according to Marca, Man United have decided they’ll meet the demand.

Manchester United unsuccessfully tried to sign Sancho during the last summer transfer window as well, and of the reports are to be believed, they would like to try their luck for the England international once again of the opportunity presents itself.

The report says United want to splurge for on Sancho after considering three things.

The first of those is his age. At the age of 19, United would be signing a player with the potential to occupy their right-wing for over a decade.

A second thing United have considered is Sancho’s resale value. If he were to flop, they’d still stand a good chance of recouping much of the money due to his standing within the game.

Manchester United also think Sancho is marketable enough to make money from his name. As the biggest club in the world, the club like signing players who can sell shirts and promote the club. And Sancho, as the world’s most-promising right-winger, would certainly make Ed Woodward and co. plenty of money behind the scenes.

However, with both Liverpool and Chelsea chasing the player, signing him won’t be easy.

He is wasting too much time in taking obvious decisions. We lost Minamino because he was ill-informed, then Haaland because he couldn’t choose between him and Greenwood. As the saying goes, “the bottleneck is always at the top”.
