Manchester United are looking to sign Chelsea wonderkid Callum Hudson-Odoi after it was revealed that Jadon Sancho would like to stay at Borussia Dortmund in a bid to play the Champions League Football.
As we have covered in our previous report, Manchester United are looking to sign a natural Right Winger who can provide us the much-needed width on the wings, something we have lacked in our previous few campaigns.
Jadon Sancho has been our top priority for that position, but with us finishing outside the top 4, that transfer is looking slim with every passing second.
However, there’s another English star who has been the talk of the town as of late. Of course, we are talking about Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The English winger made his full English debut in the last International break and has generally impressed with his express pace, superior dribbling ability and the knack of scoring goals.
The winger had already handed a transfer request to Chelsea board in January in a bid to sign for Bayern Munich due to a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge but that request was swiftly rejected by the London Club.
Currently out with an ankle injury (at least 3-6 months of recovery period), it seems like the 18-year-old has played his last game for Chelsea as he enters the last year of his contract.
If Callum fails to put pen on paper, Chelsea would be forced to cash in on him and that could be our chance to move in for him.
Solskjaer has already hinted that there are many players who are looking to sign for the Red Devils despite the lack of Champions League football in the following quotes:
“You’d be surprised how many players’ agents have been touting their players.
“Telling us that their players would love to be a part of Man United in the future.
“That’s the lure of Man United because they know the potential and size of the club, that we will in the end get back to the good days.
“Yes, we’re having a tough time at the moment. We’ve had a few seasons that we’ve not got up to the standards we expect but it’s up to me and the club to change it as quick as possible.
“If it’s a season without the Champions League, who knows but players still want to come to Man United and you probably wouldn’t be surprised but you would be surprised by the names that you get asked.”
Is Callum Hudson-Odoi the man to take us forward after a summer of deadwood clearout at Manchester United?
