It was another foot injury that rendered him helpless and he watched his teammates get knocked out by Manchester United in a dramatic fashion.
And now as things would have it, there’s a distant possibility that he could be playing for the Red Devils next season.
According to reports, he’s expressed his desire of leaving Paris Saint Germain to owner Nasser Al-Kheleifi and regrets over leaving Barcelona.
This has resulted in the Ligue 1 champions looking to recover the massive £198million they paid for his services back in 2017 with United amongst the handful of clubs that can afford the Brazilian.
But ex-Arsenal man Robson has urged United to opt out of a deal for Neymar as he’ll cause many more problems than he’s worth.
“I wouldn’t have Neymar anywhere near my club,” he told ESPN FC.
“The problems you have as a coach, you’ve got to deal with his ego.
“He wants to be the best player in the world.
“I’ve seen him have some great games, I’ve also seen him in the World Cup with the playacting, doing everything you don’t want from a professional footballer.
“He ruins some of the other things that other players want to do.
“I wouldn’t have him near my club.”
The Red Devils are in serious need of some defensive reinforcements and have registered their interest in Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly.
And Robson has approved of United’s interest in the Senegalese tipping him to do a great job at Manchester United.
“Koulibaly is one of the best centre-backs in European football and would do a great job at Manchester United,” he added.
