Manchester United secured a victory bested Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur side two goals to one, thanks to a brace by Marcus Rashford.
It was Jose Mourinho’s first time back at the Old Trafford as an opposition manager after he was sacked by Manchester United management last season and was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It was a do or die match for the Red Devils as the game was heavily speculated to be the last one for Ole if his side lost but Rashford had different plans.
Rashford took less than 10 minutes to score the first goal of the match and after Dele Alli pulled Spurs level before half-time, Rashford soon put United back in front.
According to some fans on Twitter, these goals counted as sweet revenge for the young forward against Jose Mourinho who famously showed a public disappointment over a missed shot against Young Boys in the Champions League in November 2018.
Rashford made no mistake over his finishing as Tottenham came to town for the first time since Mourinho’s appointment to replace Mauricio Pochettino – the Argentinian himself has been tipped to take Solskjaer’s job in the near future.
Here’s what supporters said on social media after the United striker scored his second of the night.
