Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has revealed a few reasons as to why the Red Devils form has dipped so badly in the last few weeks.
A 2-0 loss to the rivals Manchester City meant that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team has suffered 7 defeat in the last 9 games in all competitions.
Pundits, critics and even our own manager has questioned the mentality and attitude of a few players and Marcus Rashford has come out to say the same after the defeat last night.
“Today we didn’t play like Manchester United. It’s not right. The bare minimum is to work hard and give all for the badge, the supporters, the club and yourself.
“It has been a tough road to get to where we are, to get there and not be putting up the same performances as we were in January is disappointing.
“We know what’s been going wrong, it’s mentality and willingness to run for your team.
“Forget the league and top four, you don’t lose this game. It’s that simple as a Manchester United fan.
Marcus Rashford went on to say that the Manchester United players nevel call each other out in the public but that’s what the need of the hour is:
“We never call each other out but we have to be real with each other. It’s a matter of trying to improve each other.
“It’s more getting back used to doing it on the pitch. They [the supporters] know we can do it.
“Forget the top four and the Champions League. We have to get to the bottom of it and start playing like Manchester United for ourselves.”
Quite frankly, it’s been just talk, talk and talk in the last few weeks but the Manchester United fans want to see the fight on the pitch.
The performance last night at least showed the fight and willingness from the players but, in the end, we were just not good enough. However, if we had performed like that against Everton, we would certainly be walking away with 3 points.
We need the consistency, the mentality, the fight, on the pitch and not the talk anymore!
