Marcus Rashford is set to sign a new long-term deal at the Old Trafford in a welcome boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United fans.
The 21-year-old currently earns wages of around £80,000-a-week with his contract set to expire next year in 2020, amidst interest from big European clubs like Barcelona.
There have been some speculations surrounding the future of the English Striker after it was revealed that Rashford had refused to sign a contract extension as he was unhappy over the wages he was being offered by Ed Woodward.
With Alexis Sanchez earning a cool half-a-million Pounds per week, several of the Manchester United stars have opted to delay their contract renewal talks, as they demand parity with the Chilean’s contract.
Ander Herrera decided to leave on a free after failing to negotiate a new contract while, it seems like David de Gea will follow the Midfielder to PSG for the similar reasons.
Meanwhile, an academy product, and one of the best young talents in the Country, Marcus Rashford is a bigger priority for Ed Woodward and co. and Manchester United board is doing everything in its power to tie him down on a new deal.
It’s being reported that the 21-year-old has demanded a big pay-rise in his current salary with the figures of £300,000-a-week being thrown around in the media.
While, that would be almost 4-times of what he currently earns at the Old Trafford, Manchester United are desperate to keep the Three Lions star at the Club, especially after it was revealed that Romelu Lukaku is set to join Inter Milan in the summer.
Still £300,000-a-week for a 21-year-old who still has a lot to prove? Do you think it’s a wise decision after these reports?
Or would you pay whatever it takes to keep Marcus Rashford at the club?
