Matthijs de Ligt has made a Marcus Rashford claim on Ajax’s official channel which has got the fans talking about a possible move to the Premier League.
As we all already know, Matthijs de Ligt is a target for almost every club in the Europe who have the financial power to afford him.
The 19-year-old Dutch Star is one of the most sought after Star in world football currently and Manchester United are in a fight to secure his signature.
As you know, when a big name star gets linked to a big move, all of there social media history is researched and revealed on the internet for whatever reasons.
Now, there’s a footage from 2018, a clip from Ajax’s official TV channel, where Frenkie de Jong interviews De Ligt asking him about his most difficult opponent.
As per de Ligt:
“That has to be Rashford, from Manchester United . Great player, quick, technical skills,” De Ligt said.
Two reasons why Man United are ahead of Barcelona in De Ligt race
Manchester United are reportedly ahead of Barcelona in the Matthijs de Ligt transfer race because:
(a): We are offering him a bigger paycheck for his services.
With Barcelona already spending loads of money on his team-mate de Jong and (possibly) on Antoine Griezmann, Manchester United are ready to blow the Catalan club’s offer out of the water with considerably better wages.
(b): First team assurances
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately needs a partner for Victor Lindelof and Matthijs de Ligt will definitely start every game at the Old Trafford, unlike Barcelona, where the Dutch Star doesn’t have the first team assurances.
It’s safe to say that the absence of the Champions League football is a big let down for Manchester United and that’s the only reason this transfer can blow us in the face.
Still, we can dream!
