Chelsea central defender Antonio Rudiger picked up a knock on his already injured knee and had to be withdrawn on Sunday against Manchester United.
The earlier injury itself was deemed enough to keep the German out for the rest of the season but he recovered just in time to make it for the Manchester United game but Sarri now believes that second injury in a short while could be a serious one.
“I think the most serious situation is Rudiger, with his knee. Willian at the moment is in trouble but I think it is only a knock so we can try to recover him. For the next match in the Europa League, probably Antonio will be out.”
Rudiger could be a big miss for Chelsea as they hold a slender lead over Arsenal in the race for top four and then there’s the small matter of Europa League semifinals against Eintracht Frankfurt.
