Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Max Aarons as an alternative to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports.
The 19-year-old right-back had an impressive last season at the Championship side Norwich City where he won the EFL Young Player of the season award after some brilliant performances and helped the club to climb up the Premier League ladder.
Manchester United are desperate to sign a new right-back after the departure of Antonio Valencia with Aaron Wan-Bissaka being touted as the obvious replacement.
However, the Red Devils have seen their £50m bid for the 21-year-old being rejected by the Eagles as they demand straight up cash for their player instead of the possible ‘add-ons’.
The recent shift in Manchester United’s transfer policy has seen the Reds target young and homegrown players instead of big and established names and Max Aarons certainly fits that bill.
Meanwhile, Sky Italia have also confirmed that Manchester United have inquired over the availability of Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj after the Albanian confirmed that he wants out.
Hysaj established himself as one of the best right-back in the Serie A under Maurizio Sarri but the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti at Napoli has seen his stocks go down.
Elseid Hysaj is being touted as another back-up (and cheaper) option if Manchester United are unable to get over the Wan-Bissaka deal in the next few weeks.
Would Max Aarons be a good choice to compete with Diogo Dalot as the first choice right-back? What about Elseid Hysaj?
