Michael Owen is a man of several clubs. One distinction he has is that he played for some of the biggest Football clubs on the planet. Liverpool and Manchester United being two such clubs.
He has the task of predicting whether Manchester United will be able to salvage something out of the derby. Or whether Liverpool need to look somewhere else for the break they need.
To huge rejoice from the Liverpool fans, Owen thinks that we will witness something coherent and meaningful from United. He thinks that after their recent displays, United can not go much backwards, and that should make City anxious.
City go into this match without Kevin De Bruyne and if United do bounce back, there can be no better time to do it than now.
“All at the club will be hurting after their 4-0 defeat at Everton but they have the ideal opportunity on Wednesday to put the record straight – they certainly cannot play as badly again.
“City must do without Kevin De Bruyne – injured against Spurs at the weekend – which is a huge loss for the champions, but I expect to see opportunities and goals at both ends.
“United are unbeaten in their last 14 home league games but have kept just the two clean sheets in the league this season.
“This is a massive game for both teams and one which, I feel, could be pivotal in the destiny of the 2018/19 Premier League title.”
