Liverpool won 2-0 at Anfield in the last matchday of the Premier League season, finishing on 97 points, one solitary point off winners Manchester City.

This is a point total that makes Liverpool the runner-up with the most points ever in the Premier League. The reds also have two of the three players who staked a claim for the Premier League title. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all finished with 22 goals in the league this season. Salah has the most assists of the trio and a contribution to the most goals.

However, Liverpool yet have the chance of ending the season with the biggest silverware in Europe when they play Tottenham for the Champions League crown.

Despite the two top-scorers, Liverpool were left wanting more in the Premier League. Further, both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have been linked with moves away from Liverpool. Most notably with clubs in Spain.

Salah has come out and cleared the air about his future with Liverpool. Speaking after the ultimate match of the season against Wolves, at home, Salah says he intends to stay put at Liverpool.

Salah has continued this season what he started in the last after arriving from Roma. Last season he took Liverpool to the final but was injured by a nasty Ramos challenge and suffered heartbreak as Liverpool were on the losing end.

This season, Salah and the rest of the squad would hope to right the wrongs of last season, if not in the Premier League then in Europe. Champions of Europe, City will never sing this!
